Academic Resources Center to be honored at national conference
SEARCY, Ark. — The Harding University Academic Resources CenterTutoring Program will be honored for its certification at an upcoming
National Association for Developmental Education (NADE) conference in
March.
The University was one of the first three developmental programs in
the nation to gain certification in 2000 along with Ball State
University and the University of Houston. The conference will honor
Harding’s program for continued educational support offered to
University students.
According to NADE, certification recognizes programs that have
demonstrated application of theory, use of quality practices as
defined by professional research and literature of the field, and
continuous systematic assessment and evaluation.
Certification is awarded every seven years, and in 2009 Harding’s
program was re-certified. The University is among the first three
universities to receive continuing certification.
NADE was founded in 1976 and offers educational resources for
postsecondary students. This is the 10th year for the certification.
The NADE conference will be held in Columbus, Ohio, Mar. 10-13.
